If I only had one hour left to live, I know just how I would spend it.
Staying In
I’d never been snowed in before this winter, but this is a question I can answer after this last one! We mostly did all the things we do every day when we stay home. That’s the joy of unschooling for us I suppose .. every day has a bit of work, a bit of play, a bit of stuff that ‘has’ to be done and a bit of following whatever interest has flashed on our radar.
Paying It Forward
So here is my heartfelt thank you to these women, for the places they touched my life when they didn’t even know it. I know that you’ll love their writing too if you aren’t already a fan, so I suggest that you go over there and read through their blogs .. there is enough to keep you going forever!
My Baby Doesn’t Sleep
A tired mom saying “my baby doesn’t sleep” isn’t always understood. And while babies may have troubled sleep patterns for many reasons, a small look into the future from a mom who’s been there be the biggest help of all.
More Gained, Nothing Lost
When I first moved to the UK, I found this whole daylight savings thing traumatic. I went to sleep by the clock and I woke by the clock. I felt robbed of an hour either way. It wasn’t a good system, but one I was used to.
Unschooling Food
I haven’t anything to say about the fact that they’re watching kids TV that they enjoy while eating. Or about them using a spoon or whether they want to use their hands or suck the soup from the side of the bowl. We talk about the different contexts and what people expect from them if we’re at someone else’s house, or a restaurant and they adjust if they want to. But at home, is it important to ruin the simple pleasure of food with all these other rules?
